THE POWER OF TRUMP

It didn’t take more than a day for investors to show how much confidence they have in a country now led by a billionaire businessman who wants to cut taxes, drill for oil, and bring back manufacturing. The stock market skyrocketed Tuesday on enthusiasm centered around President Trump’s return to the White House, with the Dow gaining 537 points.

Tuesday was a great day for all champions of the America First movement. The 47th president announced the Stargate Project, a new American-based company which will invest $500 billion over the next four years to build new A.I. infrastructure in the United States. SoftBank CEO Masayoshi Son, OpenAI’s Sam Altman, and Oracle's Larry Ellison were with Trump to announce the new initiative, which is expected to help create more than 100,000 high-paying jobs. In addition, the new company will help the United States battle China in the pursuit of leading the world in A.I. development.

The power of Trump was on full display Tuesday. For starters, it was just last month when Softbank’s Son met with President-elect Trump about investing in the U.S. At the time, while speaking to the press, Trump got the Japanese billionaire to up his investment from $100 billion to $200 billion. But now he is the president, and so Trump got Son to up the investment to $500 billion. This sort of deal proves to everyone, no matter who they are, that Trump holds all the cards — not just domestically, but worldwide. For example, one of Trump’s first executive orders was to remove the U.S. from the World Health Organization (WHO).

On Tuesday, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, the Ethiopian director of WHO, best known as being one of the prominent global figures who pushed for masking and mass vaccination mandates during COVID-19, but failed to address China’s role in leaking the coronavirus in Wuhan, was not happy with Trump’s executive order. The WHO put out a press statement Tuesday stating the China-friendly organization was disappointed with Trump’s decision. It went on to say it hopes Trump will reconsider, as the WHO claimed it “plays a crucial role in protecting the health and security of the world’s people, including Americans, by addressing the root causes of disease, building stronger health systems, and detecting, preventing and responding to health emergencies, including disease outbreaks, often in dangerous places where others cannot go.”

MY OPINION
I am completely bullish on Trump and his ability to create an economy like nothing we have ever seen in this lifetime. I think everyone will see an uptick in earnings, and ultimately inflation will drop to normal levels. Banks will be open to lending money again, and businesses big and small will expand operations and create new jobs. I also think certain sectors will break out in ways that books will be written about.

With the above in mind, I am not a licensed stockbroker or a financial planner. I cannot and do not offer financial advice, but I am more than happy to share what I am doing with my portfolio now that President Trump is in office.

I believe Trump values technology, and I know he loves social media and the power it offers on so many levels. Ultimately, he will be a huge supporter of all things digital. Therefore, I see a huge opportunity in the technology space.

Trading under the symbol XLK, I have placed a decent investment in the technology focused spider fund. Currently trading at $236 per share, XLK often delivers an annual return of 20% or greater. I think XLK is set to skyrocket with Trump in office.

MORE on TRUMP…

You’re Fired!: President Trump continued his efforts to clear out Joe Biden’s holdovers by firing four high-profile Biden appointees: Brian Hook, former Iran envoy; celebrity chef José Andrés from the Sports, Fitness, and Nutrition Council; former Atlanta mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms from the President’s Export Council; and retired Gen. Mark Milley, ex-Joint Chiefs chair, whose service portrait was also removed from the Pentagon. The four firings follow the sweeping personnel changes that have taken place in the past 48 hours during the presidential transition phase.

Fox and Trump: Fox News Channel host Sean Hannity will interview President Trump from the Oval Office tonight at 9 p.m. ET.

REACTIONS

Trump Administration

ACLU Lawsuit: On Monday, Trump signed an executive order restricting birthright citizenship for children of illegal aliens, prompting the ACLU to file a lawsuit to challenge the order immediately. Attorneys general from 22 states also sued Trump over his executive order.

Patel’s Hearing Set: MAGA loyalist Kash Patel, nominated by Trump to lead the FBI, is scheduled for a Senate Judiciary Committee confirmation hearing on January 29, 2025. Senator Dick Durbin, the committee's top Democrat, has expressed opposition to Patel's nomination.

DHS Overhaul: Acting Secretary Benjamin C. Huffman of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security announced the termination of all advisory committee memberships. This decision was made to eliminate the misuse of resources and ensure that department activities prioritize national security.

The Crazy Left: Many liberals are not receiving the return of Trump very well. For example, a group of liberals gathered in San Francisco to have a scream-off as a way to voice their frustration over Trump’s presidency.

Pete Hegseth: In a desperate attempt to halt his confirmation, Democrats in the Senate received an affidavit where Hegseth's former sister-in-law claimed his behavior caused ex-wife Samantha Hegseth to "fear for her safety." The allegations were immediately shot down by Samantha, who said the information was inaccurate.

Bondi Delayed: The Senate Judiciary Committee will convene a committee vote for Trump's attorney general nominee, Pam Bondi, on Jan. 29. The panel was excepted to meet on Wednesday to advance Bondi's nomination to the full Senate but will delay its business an additional week due to Rep. Adam Schiff placing a "hold" on the calendar.

Gun Violence Prevention: Trump reportedly disbanded the White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention, which was established during the Biden administration to combat gun violence.

Bolton’s S.S. Protection: Trump revoked the Secret Service detail for his former National Security Advisor, John Bolton. This action was taken despite known threats against Bolton's life, particularly from Iran, highlighted by a recent $20 million bounty for information leading to the arrest of an Iranian accused of plotting his assassination.

DEI Closure: The federal Office of Personnel Management (OPM) notified heads of agencies and departments that they must begin taking steps to close all diversity, equity and inclusion offices by the end of the day Wednesday and place government workers in those offices on paid leave

Elon Responds: Trump’s DOGE leader, Elon Musk, issued the following statement to mainstream media organizations claiming he made the Nazi salute at Trump’s inaugural parade: “Frankly, they need better dirty tricks. The “everyone is Hitler” attack is sooo tired 😴.”

TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME

Tuesday's National Prayer Service at the Washington National Cathedral was marked by a controversial moment when Bishop Mariann Edgar Budde delivered a sermon that took a political turn, focusing on advocacy for the rights of the LGBT community and protections for illegal aliens.

Her sermon began with a call for unity. But it quickly shifted to a plea for President Trump to show "mercy" towards those in fear, specifically mentioning "gay, lesbian, and transgender children" and illegal aliens, noting their contributions to society, such as “picking crops.” This was an unusual and inappropriate moment for what is traditionally a unifying, interfaith gathering meant to bless the new administration.

The reactions from the Trump and Vance families were palpable; their faces showed clear signs of discomfort and disapproval. President Trump, First Lady Melania, Vice President JD Vance, and Second Lady Usha, appeared stony-faced, evidently not amused by the political tone of the sermon. Later at the White House, when asked about the service, Trump expressed his dissatisfaction"I didn't think it was a good service. They could do much better.”

Many on social media saw through Budde’s political ruse, especially with the emergence of past videos demonstrating her radical and woke behavior. The service, meant to be a moment of national solidarity post-inauguration, fell flat on achieving that moment.

J.D. VANCE

VP & SoS: Vice President Vance swore in Senator Marco Rubio as the new United States Secretary of State in a ceremony highlighting Rubio's unanimous Senate confirmation.

Congress & SCOTUS

Laken Riley Act: The Senate voted 64-35 on Monday to pass the Laken Riley Act, a bill aimed at cracking down on immigration, marking the first legislation congressional Republicans plan to send to President Donald Trump. Twelve Democrats joined Republicans in approving the bill, which now returns to the GOP-led House for final approval before heading to Trump’s desk.

Mad Man Schiff: Sen. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), a vocal member of the infamous Jan. 6 committee, condemned President Trump’s broad pardon of nearly all Jan. 6 defendants. Schiff labeled it a "grotesque display" of power during an interview on MSNBC’s Inside with Jen Psaki. Ironically, Schiff failed to mention receiving a preemptive pardon from former President Biden within the same day.

AOC’s Rant: While many were celebrating the Trump inauguration, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was doing anything but. In a recent rant posted to Instagram, AOC called the incoming administration "21st-century fascism" and warned of an "authoritarian administration” modeled after the leadership of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban. She also claimed Republicans would seek to control media companies and called TikTok a “propaganda tool for the right.” She had quite a lot to say…

SCOTUS Possibilities: There is speculation surrounding the Supreme Court's potential decision on President Trump's executive order to end birthright citizenship for children of illegal aliens and the interpretation of the 14th Amendment. Legal experts and political analysts are divided; some believe the court's conservative majority might be inclined to follow the original intent of the amendment's "subject to the jurisdiction thereof" clause to exclude children of aliens. In contrast, others argue that historical precedent, like the 1898 Wong Kim Ark case, strongly supports total birthright citizenship.
